Who is behind this
It starts with a question
My name is Martim Bustorff. I am 43, married, and I have three young children. I have spent more than ten years building digital products — today, ordering and payment products used across more than a hundred restaurants in the United States. EasyCheckUp is the work of one person: I designed it, wrote it and maintain it alone. I say so up front because I think you deserve to know who is on the other side of a tool that talks to you about your health.
I lost my parents when I was 29. My father to lung cancer, my mother to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Two different diseases, at different times, and the same feeling both times: that of always arriving late to a conversation that should have started much earlier.
I am not going to tell you that a check-up would have changed those outcomes. It would not have, and it would be dishonest to suggest it. What changed was something else: I realised that, for years, nobody in my family had talked seriously about prevention — not for lack of will, but because we never knew where to start.
That is the question that stayed with me. Not «what disease will I get», but «what should I be checking, at the age I am — and how would I even know that?». In 2018, at Universidade Católica, I turned it into an academic project. Then it sat in a drawer.
The problem that made us
But I kept coming back to it. I studied health guidelines, read what Portugal's Directorate-General of Health and other bodies recommend for each age and profile, and slowly saw something simple: the information all exists, it is public, and it is practically unreadable for anyone outside the field. Science is not what is missing — translation is.
You may know the feeling: leaving an appointment with the sense that there was more to ask, without quite knowing what. It is not a lack of care — yours or your doctor's. It is the space between a science that is all published and a language almost nobody speaks. EasyCheckUp was born to be the bridge across that space.
The mission
EasyCheckUp is my attempt at that translation. That is why it does not store your answers, does not diagnose anything, never alarms you, and always ends in the same place: a conversation with your doctor. Every one of those decisions cost me features that would have been far easier to sell.
Today that attempt has a written mission: to bring people closer to their own health and make prevention a habit — not a scare. And it has a foundation that is not an extra: privacy. Your health answers never touch a database; the only record that remains is the report you download and the suggestions saved to your account — yours, and yours to delete.
One note I owe you: I am not a doctor. The authority of what you read here does not come from me — it comes from the guidance of Portugal's Directorate-General of Health, the World Health Organization and the other bodies behind each suggestion, which you can check one by one. My job is to translate that into plain language and put it in your hands early enough to be of use.

What changes for you
People who come to EasyCheckUp almost always bring the same doubt: «what should I be checking, at the age I am?». Five minutes later they take away a map for the appointment — what to discuss, by priority — and, in Premium, the reasons, the sources and the questions.
That is the transformation we promise, and the only one — said with the honesty that defines us: we do not predict outcomes and we replace no one. We make the conversation that matters start earlier and better prepared, without alarm. The rest is between you and your doctor, as it should be.
Where we are going
I believe prevention saves lives, and that a small nudge is often all it takes for someone to commit to their own health. That nudge is what I want to keep giving. The platform will keep growing — more information, more clarity, more reasons not to put it off — and I am looking for partnerships with people who share this purpose: health professionals, institutions and companies who want to bring prevention to more people. EasyCheckUp is built NOT to store your health answers. It isn't a setting you toggle: it's the architecture.

That's why — unlike most sites — we don't even need to ask you for cookie consent.
Your data, under your control
You can delete your account whenever you want. After payment, you keep the PDF and the assessment saved to your account, to reopen and download again at no cost.
